Once, in 1977 (I am 59) I got an unknown illness and almost died. It was never discovered what it was. I had a newborn son and a four year old daughter and my husband promised everyone who would listen that he would do anything at all if I would live. There was an all night vigil in the waiting room that I was oblivious to. I came out of it but ended up spending 8 days in the hospital. No after effects except that I am not allowed to "give blood".

I have cheated death, in a sense. I was DIAGNOSED WITH BONE CANCER AT 14 AND THE DOCTORS SAID I wouldn't live to see 18. chemo failed me miserably, so no marrow transplant could be done. Well, I don't know what happened but I'm 32!!!! Still kicking and doing really good actually, exept the occational joint pains. everyone that knows my story thinks it's a miracle. Almost died a few times during chemo wich was very harsh back then, still.

Yes, when I was eight years old I jumped in a pool and nearly drowned. I didn't know how to swim(still don't) but i just saw everyone else jumping in so i jumped too. Anyway, I can remember what they say about coming up 3 times and after going back down for the 3rd time I just knew it was the end. But another girl came from out of nowhere and brought back up to the surface. Needless to say, I haven't been in a pool since.

Back in 1995, I was skydiving and had a parachute failure. However, I had a backup parachute which, thankfully, worked. Not exactly cheating death, I suppose, but as close as I have gotten.

yes I was in the Navy stationed on the AOE- 1 USS Sacremento and we where in the persian gulf. I was outside on the back of the ship in a little shack thingy watch the helicopters we where on a unrep (giving them oil) so you need to be really close for that and one ship went right so the other corrected and we collided...in the middle of the gulf...I tought I was dead....thank god everything was okay and we sat on the dock to get repaired...the other ship was a carrier....biggen'

Yes, I have. With an addiction to alcohol. I tried my best to kill myself and had so many "close" calls. Gratefully I haven't found it necessary to drink since May 22, 1999.
Good question.
Peace.

Yes, I was nine months pregnant and a semi missed hitting my car by inches - LITERALLY!! I couldn't stop shaking after that. Luckily there was no oncoming traffic or he would've hit them.

Yes. I am allergic to aspirin and one time, in a botched attempt to commit suicide, I overdosed on aspirin. My heart actually stopped beating for a few moments. I was rushed to a hospital in just enough time.
