NO! Hopefully we do not have a woman in office (as president) anytime soon. We will be a HUGE mockery, and it's not right to have the image of a woman to be "leading" our country. I'm not saying a woman cannot do it. It's that things wouldn't fall good with many, many, many people around the world.

It is only about five weeks since this question was last asked, so I will repeat the answer I gave:-
There are many American women who have the education, intelligence, ability and desire to serve their country in such a position. There is absolutely no reason why they should not do as good a job as a man. America should give them a chance, what have they got to lose? One of the greatest Prime Ministers great Britain has had is Lady Margaret Thatcher, or "Maggie" as she was affectionately known. She showed us all that a world statesman could be a woman too. She showed her courage with the Falklands war. She showed that she was not someone `to mess with`. Yes she showed some tears as well, but oh how we loved her for that......America has strong women also, let her show them to the world, give them a chance.

Given the state we're in right now, a better question would be, " Is a woman president ready for America?" Bush has really got us in a bind; the economy, health care, the war, not to mention our international image. It will take one hell of a PERSON to fix this mess, man or woman.

I'm not sure how America will react when a woman runs for the Presidency. I don't care for Hilary Clinton, but I wouldn't be opposed to having a woman for President.

I simply do not understand where you are coming from. You make it sound like the ultimate achievement. The one thing that we have all been working toward. Why can't we settle for the best candidate. The last thing we want is a token woman. It may satisfy the feminist lobby. But they are best ignored.

Indira Ghandi, Golda Meir and Margaret Thatcher amongst many, were as capable as any man. So yes I think the USA is ready for a female president the First Ladies run the show anyway.

Yes, and I hope it's Hillary. She would be competent I'm sure but that is not my reason for wanting her to win. It's the fact that to see Hillary and Bill back in the White House would REALLY ANNOY some of those Americans who passionately hate the Clintons. These people have been in the ascendancy for six years and it is time they were marginalised.

If you mean Hilary Clinton? NO WAY!
Condeleeza Rice might make a good president, but she has said she would not stand for election.
