we are bombarded with countless of information every day, what to wear, what to eat, how to live, so basically we cannot hear our inner voice from all of these "voices", we cannot hear what do we want, so i think that is what is making us "lose it"

Very much inclined towards materialistic life and approach.
It is bound to give such problems since man is not alone in this world.
No integral approach towards life, humanity, society, other responsibilities towards family, relatives, community etc.
Man can not live with just money and materials alone.
Man can not live just by spending time only for "God" alone.
There has to be a balance of both in a man's life.
Most such problems that you have mentioned will get solved by such a life of a man.
If he lives a balanced life between materialistic life and "other true higher life" then such things will decrease considerably.
In material pusuits man loses most of his energy that God has givne him and gives him. He becomes "worn out" in pursuits for pleasures.
Man needs to restore the energy in his inherent energy resource by turning towards God. This way man will get enough energy to overcome daily obstacles in life which are unavoidable.
He will get enough energy to live happy life.
God does not help man by coming to his door and handing over money. Man is sent to earth where he needs to earn his living.
But money alone is not enough as I have explained above.

The modern, first world, consumeristic, society is virtually "psychotic." Our neuroses are a good sign, an indication of hope left and of a reluctance to become quite as mad as our surroundings.

Because of excessive one-sided use of the brain - gross undermining of emotion.
The modern man has learnt to create and use emotion too for logical and material purposes.

There is too much terrain to worry about. If you're not nervous about something, not multi-tasking, not drinking coffee -- you're not paying attention: which is a good reason to be worried, but life will just sort you out if you can't do it for yourself.

Because we think too much & there's too much to think about! Life used to be simple. Now we have too many options. We are in overload in every aspect of our lives. How do we take it all in?!
