You can get what you need at Walmart, a wireless router, card and just slip the disk from the router box into your main computer, it will tell you how to connect everything.

1. make sure you have a wireless card in your laptop...look for an antenna symbol above your keyboard. ((^)) sorta looks like that...
2. go buy a wireless access point or router. I prefer Linksys or Netgear. They have the best stuff at a good price. I do not recommend anybody else...
3. most of these device come with NICE SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS.... they really go all out with large color pictures so you know what to do.
4. You DO NOT need to install software to make anything work. Many companies tell you to do so, but really it not needed. in the end the cds fill your computer with thier ads, email links and crud I simply hate.
5. In the end you'll need: a wireless enabled laptop (look for the symbol), a wireless AP or router (it will connect to your DSL or Cable modem), and a little time and confidence.
Good luck

You have a Toshiba Satellite series which means you already have a wireless card installed. Now, all you need is a wireless router. You'll plug the modem (cable, dsl) into the router and that's really about all there is to it. good luck :-)

All the responses you've received so far make it clear that you just need a wireless router. Make sure you get one that's compatible with how you connect to the internet though ... that's either an ADSL wireless router (if you're with BT), or a Cable wireless router (if you're with a Cable company). They are not the same.

basically you will need a wireless router/modem,so you can connect your laptop to the modm
there are quite a few i.s.p,s doing wireless router/modems as part of their packages,as most users want to go wireless these days so i.s p,s need to supply these to attract customers
bt(http://www.bt.com/index.jsp)do a brilliant home hub which is wireless and also doubles up as a internet phone hub,it also offers broadband t.v in the near future
another good i.s.p doing wireless set ups is a.o.l(http://www.aol.co.uk/),they do a wireless broadband set up from only £14-99 per month, this is probally the cheapest you are going to get in the uk
once you have got your router/modem all you need to do is either run the wireless connection wizard in the control panel,or use the set up disc that comes with your modem, remeber to note down your w.e.p key(the number which stops unauthorized users using your wireless broadband)as you will need this number to use your wireless modem/router
another way of using the internet wirelessly is to find a hotspot(http://www.wi-fihotspotlist.com/)and then purchase a token to use your laptop in thes locations
good luck
