what hath lynyrd skynyrd wrought? i think that most of what comes out of nashville these days is what would have been called pop music 25 or 30 years ago, crap maybe, but i find the evolution interesting. certainly a lot of music, no matter what label it's given, has the bottom line of how much cash it's going to bring in, if the person singing it has that attitude or not, and that always waters the music down to it's lowest common denominator. a lot of music i ignore if i don't like it, country or not, even among "artists" that i like. it does seem as if you have to wade through a lot of fluff until you hear something you like, or are turned on to some good music by somebody. but i'm sure the crap sounds good to some people, and that's okay if i don't get it, as i'm sure a lot of people don't get the first set of the dead at winterland, sf 12/29/77. but yeah, i could do without a song that is nothing more than a sports chant, that's like writing "someone's knocking on the door, someone's ringing the bell."

Amen Brother!! Amen!! Preach On Brother!! Preach The Word!!
Is it OK if I just rant a little and leave off the hate? Otherwise I agree with your points totally. I do not like what Country Music has become.
Does any one remember when it was Country AND Western music?
About the only place left to find REAL country music is in Branson, MO, Mountain View, AR and Pidgeon Forge, TN. And I have no idea where to find REAL WESTERN music.

I have been saying the same thing about all music,
it is people in music, they think that all music is good, it is not all good, just by the law of avg. some have to suck, and some has to be OK and some good and some great
People what to belive that Paris Hiltion and Muddie waters are = becuase they both make music, they do both make music, but one makes good music and the other put out crap, she does not even make her own music dam it,
people have to grow up and challenge there mind, they have to stop being 20 and listing to boy bands, and what ever other crap is out there. it is bad to live this way.
thanks for letting me go on.
you have good taste

What today's country is lacking is feeling, It seems like they just sing about anything. the older country had more meaning to it.
