Well chamma - it's never the MAIN cause - but there is a significant body of literature said to report that those boys who began EARLY masturbation were more likely to end up as gay & those guys who started very late puberty & J/O later on - turned out mostly straight. some clinicians theorize that when boys start this very early on in life - they create a mental connection between the penis & male genitals & all that is sexually valuable & exciting. they start to admire & appreciate their own penis - but later on this admiration & enjoyment extends to other guys' penises. Once this mind-connection is established - it becomes easier for those guys to later on gravitate towards other boys bodies as sex objects of desire.

There are exceptions, of course, but statistics support this theory - Not all boys who start jerking-off early will turn out gay - but MOST guys who become gay did start masturbation quite early on in life. by contrast, most guys who got later puberty & started J/O later on developed into straight men.

It's a connection which cannot be ignored so easily. but this is only ONE of many factors which contribute to gay tendencies. This of course tells us nothing about how lesbians become what they are. but for guys - it's relevant information.
