i have just bought my daughter a MP3 player and i have no idea which sites are worth visiting or how they work,

Limewire, but be careful. The titles do not always match the content. There's a lot of adult stuff mislabelled. If you are downloading for kids, check it out before you allow them to watch it. If you have broadband it's pretty quick.

I like Limewire personally and it's free as well as very user friendly. Go to the link and download latest free version and go from there...

there is another site called kazaa which you can download mp3 for free

just have a virus scanner and see that its turned on when downloading and watch out for more 'adult' content on there.
