I hope I am understanding you correctly. You are on birth control pills. You are now to the week with the placebo (or period pills). You are on day 3 of taking the placebo pill. You have not gotten your period yet.

Taking the pill can put off your period. The period you have while on the pill is more of a pretend one anyways, since girls tend to freak out when you don't have one. Anyways, you are not alone this happens to a lot of girls on the pill. Before I went on the pill I always started my period on Sunday (I also took the pills as a Sunday starter), after being on the pill for a bit it eventual pushed my period back to start on Tuesday or Wednesday. And years later to even start on Thursday. So you will probably get your period soon, within the next day or so. Also, the pill usually makes your period lighter and it will last a shorter period of time. For me that was about three days and I usually got away with just using panty liners 90% of the time it was so light.

However, if you have been sexually active and did not use another form of protection besides the pill there is about a 1% chance you could be pregnant. I highly doubt this though. If you don't get your period within a couple of days I would consult your doctor though.

Well...first off, is there any reason to believe you could be pregnant? They aren't foolproof you know. I can attest to that. My 3rd baby was conceived when I was on birth control pills. I took them faithfully. Consider this carefully. If you have had sex since your last period, it would be a good idea to buy a home pregnancy test. Ease your mind.
That brings us to the second issue. If you have missed any pills and tried the doubling up thing...it can cause your period to be off. It might take a couple of months to get it back in line again. You have to remember that they are not only for preventing pregnancy, but are helpful in regulating your period. It's nice to know exactly when you will start, how long it will last, etc. Missing a pill messes up that cycle. Don't panic. If you are not pregnant then it will get back to normal and stay that way if you don't miss any more.
Third; stress. Stress can play havoc on your periods. Even if you take the pill. If something in your life is causing you too much stress it can cause your cycle to bounce around doing all kinds of crazy things. Relax.
And last; too much physical activity can be too much for your cycle. Did you know that women in the military almost never get their period during basic training because of the stress and the strain on their bodies? It's true. When they ask the recruiter about what will they do during that time, how will they get "supplies", etc., they are told "you won't have to worry about it.". One of my sisters went into the army. She skipped 2 periods. The one during and the one after basic. Not one of the girls got it while she was there. Even beginning a new work out can be enough to throw you off.
Bottom line...get it checked out. Being safe is better than being sorry.

If you just started taking the pill it takes a few cycles to become regular. If you have been on it for a while and this is happening, consider if you have been taking the pill correctly-that is every day at the same time. If that is the case and you are having sex, you could be pregnant. If it doesn't start in a week, go buy a test or call your doctor.

I was on birth control when I got pregnant. We were not using any other form of safety...but I took the pill religiously!! It is 99.5% effective. I would just wait a few days and see if you start. The pill is not always right on with your period, and things affect your period, like stress and diet.

Wait a few days...if in a week no period, take a test!!!

no. I'm on birth control as well, my doctor put me on the pill BECAUSE I was getting terrible cramps. It's one of the benefits of being on the pill, no or less intense cramps.

You should go on your medicine. But if the side effects so serious, immediately talk to your physician. Because if you are pregnant, you will talk more desperately soon.
