your question really has little to do with the specifics of either evolution or "creationism." Instead, whether you believe in whatever your religion teaches you, or you believe in the ideas put forth by " Science," comes down to whether you take things based on faith or based on evidence.

Common to all religions is the acceptance of some basic ideas, as being true, and to be seen as true, without question. We call this acceptance of these “truths,” by the term, “Faith”

If you take something on Faith, it requires that you believe the statement to be true, since there is no way to test it… you simply believe.

There are those who treat the description of Noah, a flood, and a contest with a dinosaur, as being true. There is no way that anyone can verify whether these statements are true, or not. Instead, they must take on faith, that everything coming from the Bible, (or other primary religious documents), or the statements of their religious leaders must be true.

The methods of science take NOTHING ON FAITH. Instead, Science rests with facts which can be tested, and on explaining these facts (theories, hypotheses, predictions, forecasts), in a way that tests how likely they are to be true.

This likelihood of truth (also called probability or “confidence level”) is the most important idea that separates Science from Faith. If you believe something to be true, based on Faith, then you see no POSSIBILITY THAT IT IS NOT TRUE.

For the scientist nothing is always true, or always false. Instead, the scientist expresses his statements as a probability: “The chance of rain tomorrow is 70%.” This allows for the chance, (30%) that it will not rain. The person preparing the forecast works with facts like air pressure, wind speed and direction, humidity, etc. If you subscribe to a number of different weather reports, you will find differences among them. There is no dispute about the facts, but only the interpretation of how to use those facts, and which are the most important.

It seems to me that the more interesting question to ask would be, “What explains the difference between those who hold religious beliefs in any form vs. those who reject religious teachings as being improvable?”

There is a fair amount of research that suggests the determining factor in those who believe in some religious teachings vs. those who do not, is to some degree determined by one’s genetic background.

If this is an idea of interest to you, do the following search: GOD + GENE. You will find a number of comments on this interesting hypothesis.

In the end the choice is going to be a completely personal decision for you.

It's not an either-or question. If you look at the diversity of life on Earth, the fossil record and genetic maps, evolution is all but a given. Did God do everything as written in Genesis? Clearly not. Did God create the "spark of life"? Maybe. Did God create the universe? I can't provide a better explanation.

God. The simple story is, evolutionist can explain Nature but cannot explain its' beginning. Simply because, 'according to science, God is inexplicable'. I say God because through Him, I have been able to stand up for me, not only as a human that DID NOT evolve, but as a young woman, a daughter, etc. My point is, God places harmony in EVERYTHING. Something humans have been UNABLE to do!!!

NB: Believe me, Evolution does not harmonise with EVERYTHING else out of its scope.......

Evolution is the method creation uses to unfold itself.

We evolve. I am not the same person as I was yesterday. I also created who I am today by the choices I made.

So, evolution and creation are inescapable from each other as they are both intertwined. They are expressions of the same thing. If you were to live for 10,000 years you might get to see creation unfold with better clarity, but in the mean time you can only take it on faith.

Obviously we have to believe in God, because even if science is today successful in making an artificial heart, it still is not able to make a artificial soul......., it still does not know how and when lifeless womb of mother suddenly starts moving as an unknown holy spirit , a soul has entered into it.........can science put life back into a dead person or animal.....no.....so till science is able to do this.....Let's believe in God.

Personally, I believe God has made humans. I just can't think how we came from some ape's long ago. It's also possible that many other ape's have come and go, some more related to man than others. Perhaps these are being found today as skulls.

Evolution, definitely. Studying biology and genetics, evolution is the simplest and most elegant (and most obvious) explaination. Anyone who believes in creationism is simply closing his eyes and shoving his fingers into his ears, shouting "LALALA!" in a lame attempt to ignore the sheer amount of evidence in support of evolution.

I am both. I believe that GOD created the earth and all that dwells on the earth. However, he then let evolution make us and all other creations change.
