I remind them...then qualify that "Time is my currency...and they can privide me with an address or their bank account number for me to withdraw the monies owed for my billable time that is being wasted...at that point they usually hang up......" They cannot keep up with verbal volleyball...

I don't like it. I think that it is rude. I will give them the opportunity to do so by saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name." Or, "May I ask with whom I'm speaking." Something along those lines. If they don't tell me then I say, "Well, since I don't know your name and I have even went as far as asking you for it, I don't wish to speak to you. Bye."

it means they don't want you to know who they are,probably because they have something to hide.ask once who they are if they refuse to tell you hang up.it could be someone pulling a prank or a scam.when i answer the phone i say hello one time if they don't answer i say I'll ask one more time then i hang up. That's so embarrassing. But that happens to my dad when one of us girls calls him. He listens to us talk for a while and depending on who else we mention, he can usually figure out which one it is. He probably doesn't have the nerve to ask which one it is. We should be more considerate when calling him.

I just say "May i ask whos speaking, please?"...and if they still dont wanna tell their names...ok i admit it kinda does bother me but i dont say anything unless i have to like pass on a messege..then i´ll have to ask em again cuz otherwise it´d be kinda hard to tell the person that gets the messege who its from. lol. And if they still dont tell, i´ll just pass on the messege and say its from Mr/Mrs Anonymous. lol.

With caller ID you can usually tell who is calling. But, if not, I will ask..."Who's calling?" If they don't give me their name I will ask again and if they can't or won't tell me...then it's time to hang up!

I try to ask nicely. If someone didn't answer, I'd hang up - I don't have time for silly games
