Not to get into too much detail here, but the conservatives of the USA believe that religious marriage and legal marriage are the same thing. They don't realize that "their" institution of marriage will never be in danger of being overrun by homosexuals because the church is so anti-gay. On the other hand, legal marriage it is a simple document which gives legal rights to couples. It is a travesty of our civil liberties to deny two consenting adults the right to protect themselves legally.

I don't believe it is a big deal. It's the use of the word marriage. If you put a not-her word in place of marriage no one have much to say about it. The only reason for it any way is with the right of one to receive the same rights in the eyes of the law. Like paying taxes and having a say about the treatment of there mate, if need.

Gay marriage is not a bad thing at all. Just two people showing love for each other. Which state's constitution are you referring to?

It's not.
Anything a gay person does is bad according to anti-gay religious folk,

You want to be promiscuous = Bad thing
You want a committed relationship in marriage = Bad thing
You want to go to church, a gay christian = Bad thing
You don't want to go to church, a gay atheist = Bad thing
You want inclusive gay sex education to stop Aids = Bad thing
You get Aids = Bad thing
You don't get Aids = Bad thing

Really homophobes can't accept gays on any level, unless gays are gagged invisible and celibate... or living a lie in the closet in a sham heterosexual travesty of marriage, to all purposes dead and not functioning.

Its not some people are just afraid. They are afraid that what they have will somehow be diminished by it. I personally dont see how two people loving each other and mutually monogomas can hurt anyone else.

Every majority hates to give rights to any minority because it diminishes thier power.

if you believe homosexuality is wrong, then you believe that two homosexuals being together is wrong, regardless of what you call it.
