ISLAMABAD, 8 October 2004 — At least 40 people attending a memorial service for slain Sunni extremist Azam Tariq were killed in a bomb explosion early yesterday in the eastern Pakistani town of Multan. At least 100 more were injured in the massive explosion which police said was triggered by remote control as the participants were dispersing at the end of the service at Rashidabad, a residential area of Multan.

The bombing came less than a week after a suicide attack left 31 people dead at a Shiite mosque in another eastern city, Sialkot.

The government announced a ban on religious and political gatherings nationwide after the attack. Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao told reporters here that the ban on public gatherings — except for Friday prayers — had been imposed to prevent any more attacks by terrorists. He did not say how long the ban would last.

hi Ash, regrettably, the concern in Kashmir isn't non secular yet political. This issue has been happening because the independence of Indo-Pak on 14-Aug-1947. Pakistan and India had their first warfare over freedom of Kashmir in 1948. The Kashmir that replaced into freed in 1948 is now said as Azad (loose) Kashmir. they have their personal Parliament like Scotland. the concern in Jamu Kashmir is that police and locals are battling over the liberty of their us of a. The attack in Bombay replaced into very unlucky and there replaced into no favor to kill innocuous people. Killing innocuous people in any us of a is inaccurate and adverse to the trust of Islam. The attack on Marriott motel and Sri Lankan cricket crew replaced into (in my personal view) to destabilise Pakistan. attack on the mosque very last friday prayers in NWFP and purely on the prompt the terrorist attack on Police preparation college is purely attack on forces. those people don't have the balls to face the authorities and communicate. Benazir Bhutto's assassination replaced into an act of terrorism and the shown truth that they could't stand to have a lady best minster in Pakistan. i think and percentage your soreness.
