We had one in a holiday home last month. I was by De Longhi, and was pretty good, better than I'd imagined. There are loads in the Argos brochure, from £30 up to over £100. They seem to be either 1.5kw or 2kw, and there's a 2kw De Longhi one for £49.99 which is probably as good as any.

The fan radiators are better for instant heat, but I would think are more expensive to run. Also in Argos.

I bought one from Argos for £50. It heated the room up lovely but was a little expensive to run (but better than being cold).

Cost depends on the wattage and size, but yes they do work, and can easily warm a room up, think ours cost us €25 for a 2KW heater.

I got mine for $35 at wal-mart and that is standard price just about everywhere unless you find a sale. They work good in a small room, We use ours to heat up the bathroom in the morning.
