Well, it might sound silly but there is this website www.flylady.net and she has lots of tips for all kinds of things relating to housework and schoolwork. She recomends using a timer and set it for 15 minutes--"because you can do anything for 15 minutes". It's really true, you will be surprised what you can accomplish in that little amount of time. Then you give yourself a 15 min. break to do something you enjoy...then 15 more minutes on your homework or whatever...get it? It really has worked wonders for me, I hope it will help you too. A little at a time and you will be on track! : )

I agree with whoever mentioned Flylady, but her plan only worked for a little while for me.Some of it stuck...
To take a page from my childhood,I use shiny star stickers.Really.I give myself a gold star for doing something I've really been putting off,and a silver one for when I act in a more timely manner.I put them on the calender,so I can tell just by glancing how much work I've done in any given week.If there aren't many stars in a week or a month,I know I need to get on it.Lately, though,I put off putting the stars on there, and then I forget totally.I've actually done more this month than shows.

I understand and I agree that it is not about being lazy and dumb. It is in all human nature to put off things, especially strenuous, time consuming or unpleasant things. The thing that helps me is picture how much easier it would be on me to do something when it was supposed to be done, rather than rushing around, stressing myself out at the last minute. Being prepared is such a GREEEAAAT feeling!!

Gotcha. Since I'm on YA way past when I should be and I'm an adult, let me give you some expert advice. (roar)
I sometimes put a timer on and when it goes off, it's time to put away the toys. Better yet do your work first and reward yourself with whatever passtime you enjoy the most. I hear that works.
Other than that I'm thinking of getting a friend to whack me each time I slack off, but I didn't give them house key.

I just make myself a "to do" list and I go after the things I DON'T WANT to do first.....Get them over with and out of the way first!.......Also you can tell yourself....you have such and such to get done and you can not do anything fun until it is finished...I am sure I would finish up the thing I did not want to do just so I could go on with my life and do the things I do want to do.....After the crappy stuff is done......And don't forget how WONDERFUL it feels when you finish something......It feels GREAT to know it's done and over with....

Just do a little bit of it. For five minutes. Just move in that direction.
