If that were the case, no mating between spiders would take place.

The webs aren't spider specific. They will ensnare anything stepping on a sticky portion. Spiders know what parts of the threads to step on.

However, spiders will defend their territory against other spiders. One of the reasons male spider longevity isn't as high as the females.

Caught? Don't think so. I did watch a spider walk onto another spiders web and the web's owner promptly attacked and killed the intruder!! :-)=

it depends yes some spiders can get stuck in another spiders web!

Yes it may get trapped bcoz that is'nt made bythesteping spider so he does not know the sticky portion.
