Black Sabbath since they invented the genre
Type O Negative- Metal +Goth= Super Doom and gloom
Stormtroopers Of Death- 1st crossover of hardcore and thrash
Testament- San Fran Bay area thrash
Metallica's first three releases because everything after Master Of Puppets is a waste of listening
Ministry-OK so it's really industrial but eh, they're classic
Death-even though the singer of this group has passed on it's some of the finest death metal to be found
Slayer-Just buy Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss
Iron Maiden-Finest two and three part guitar harmonies under the sun, who else could turn the poem The Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner into a metal tune?
