I had nothing but trouble with NTL, the tv service kept dropping out, my cable internet kept dis-connecting, after ringing them about 15 times i was told that the network bandwidth wasn't high enough in my area, and it would be 2 years until it was scheduled to be upgraded.
Needless to say i now use BT and Sky.

Don't do it! Signing up is easy enough and if you are lucky you might even get a full service. I had telephone only from them and am still paying for it despite the fact I cancelled my account three months ago.
While I had service it was not great especially at weekends they seem to do service work, once I was without service for over three days - when I phoned to complain they said they would refund the line rental for that month but never did.
Now when I phoned to cancel: First time they didn't cancel the account, then after half an hour on hold they told me they had cancelled and would refund the cash. Still no credit to my account. I phoned up again, to be told my account is in credit by some spurious amount that doesn't correspond to what I am owed. Now I will have to phone up again during the day to speak to the inefficient Moves and Transfers dept.
Moral of the story? You'll never leave NTL - for all the wrong reasons.

I've used ntl phone and cable tv for the last five years with no trouble at all. Their customer service lines were rather slow but the call centres seem to have improved a lot in the lst year or so. I recently moved to ntl dial-up internet and found that it seems a bit slower than ukonline's dial-up.

Oh God No! I had NTL years ago, they were the most incompetent people i've ever dealt with. Not only do you get a monthly bill (which i hated) The t.v digital full package is ****. I ended up paying a bill one month, then getting billed again for it the next month. Took me 3 hours on the phone shouting to get it sorted. In the end, I moved to sky and bt. Far better x

Many years ago I had NTL Broadband and TV, after getting so frustrated with the service I re-dubbed them NTHell and moved to a different supplier. But lately their service seems to have improved greatly, friends have had no problems at all and been supplied with a very good service.

I used to be a customer and I used to work for them and they are dreadful.
They don't care about their customers and the service is general - if you can sign up with someone else I would
