Well I don't know what the other two mean but the last one it means that both of you are going in different directions in you lives.

"ships that pass in the night" goes way back. Stop and think about it. A ship, two ships, both the same, they pass in the night, without seeing each other or, without stopping to say "Hi" or see each other. They're not seeing each other. Sad.

Two people that have a feeling for each other but, just pass through without communicating. sad. "strangers in the night" etc.

two ships passing in the night are unaware as to who is onboard the other ship..... ie strangers that met and then parted with an affair inbetween both people left not knowing much about the other one. :)

Basically it was a one night stand. They knew nothing about each other, it was a one off, no questions asked x x x
