why does at&t offer 56k hookup and only deliver 26.4k.?

When we signed up they offered 56kps then only delivered 26.4kps,now they offer dsl only to find it's not available?

are you sure you don't have some antique modem?

No matter who the provider is, you can only get a full 56k ONLY IF everything from the service provider to your computer is PERFECT. Meaning, no static in the phone lines. No noise in the lines. Among many other factors. I'm feeling for ya though....
