mp3 is basically an industry standard, and many computer programs recognize it. iPods, an Apple invention, uses iTunes, which uses a format called AAC to compress the music files. There is a difference, and the two are not compatible. You can set your iTunes to use mp3, though.

It the same thing. Except for an MP3 Player can be a none brand name. I have an I River which has the exact features plus more than and IPOD. The I Pod does not have Radio, does not voice record or games but my MP3 player does.

IPOD charges more money for less features.

An Ipod is Apple's brand of an MP3 player. It's basically a name brand vs a generic.
