I have an HP Media Centre M1070n, 512mb and I wanted to upgrade the memory because it's slowing down. Is it easy to install?

go to www.crucial.com
there you will be able to find out your memory type
most probably a small software will be downloaded
the execution of that small software could result in telling you the type of RAM your system can accept
ok

Yes, it's easy to install. You just flick the levers either side of the RAM board and take it out and the opposite to install.

Go to HP Media Centre web site and find out the type of RAM which is compatible. You need to find out if it is DDR, SDRAM etc and the PC2300 etc

The following web site may also help.

Yes just pop the old out and put the new in. There should be instructions with the new ram on how to install it. To make sure all the ram is working go to control panel, clck system and check to see if the amount of ram = or close to how much you put in.

If your PC is slowing down, it is not because it needs more memory. You probably and more than likely have spyware adware and even a trojan or virus. Have you been downloading crap off limewire or other P2P?
That'll do it.
Get AVG Free antivirus, install, update and have it scna you PC. Get Adaware Free, install, update it and have it scan for Adware.

Both programs can be found at http://www.download.com
