Is there a website that can tell me the count of all the Olympic medals in the past or as far back as possible?
I'm trying to figure out how many total Olympic medals some countries have.

Try this site it is great, Web site is exclusively devoted to Olympic fanatics.
It will provide the ranking by country for each olympic event (e.g. Track and Field 100 meter dash men) and for each sport and olympic (e.g. Track and Field 1900 Paris).
It includes all Olympic results from Athens 1896 to Sydney 2000 (when sport is completed), and Chamonix 1924 to Torino 2006
