Anything bottled by law MUST be dated and by law again it has to have a date on it in case of recall... it is actually a smart move on the actions of the bottle, water makers to have this..and keep others in the clear...you will find that some strains of ecoli have been found in batches of bottled water....now I hope that this explains it! Ultimately it is for the protection of the seller and the consumer. Check to see which water company has the best reputation for NO lawsuits and take it from there.

Only flowing water dont need expiry date, if water become still bacteria and other germs start growing on that that's why it need expiry date

Water can become stagnant. Ever seen a pond thats not taken care of...? Full of algea and moss. You wouldnt want to drink this, although the effect is less with bottled water it remains present.
