I would say it means feeling comfortable meeting new people, being interested in talking to them, wanting to be social and not feeling alienated or shutting yourself away in a room, scared to go out.
Extreme shyness, timidity, extreme pessimism or low sense of self-worth would also be examples of poor mental health.
In answer to your question, a good social, intellectual and spiritual outlook make life worth living and more enjoyable.
The important thing is to be able to live life to the full.

There is no overpopulation problem. The population of many European countries have actually been DECREASING in recent years. The upward slope of the U.S. population over time is rather unique from the rest of the world--it's not due to more births, but more immigrants. According to a U.N. report, the Earth can sustain as many as 10 billion people with its resources and farming technology. We're only at about 6 billion. We've got a long way to go before we become "overpopulated". Racism stems from ignorance. Violence comes from poor parenting and unjust social situations like poverty. Poverty is the result of bad luck, poor government, and--to a degree--personal failures. Not overpopulaiton.

Social health is getting along good with others, being able to join in the group w/o difficulty and complement it.
Intellectual health is keeping your mind sharp, reading everyday,
using your mind wisely,
and spiritual health is your relationship to God and yourself , HOwever you conceive that.

BALANCE AND MODERATION IN ALL THINGS, FREE FROM
OBSESSION, GIVING, CARING, ABLE TO MEET YOUR OWN INTIMATE NEEDS AND GIVE BACK TO OTHERS, BEING SLOW TO TAKE OFFENSE. . . . HUMOR IN ALL THINGS

ALL THIS IS GOOD HEALTH. AND PHYSICAL UNFITNESS WILL EFFECT YOUR OTHER ABILITIES.
