I have been told by my gran that the best way to get the creases out of curtains is to hang them up slightly damp and the weight will pull the creases out. I however am unsure i believe that they would smell and people shouldnt be lazy and just iron them.

What do u think?

Hang them Damp,,, Have you ever been to someones house and they have creases in the curtains, ? But really tho hang them, and they dont need to be very damp, you can always try one of them steamers to get wrinkles from clothes if you dont like how they look, or use a spray bottle to dampen them a bit more,, if they are damp when you hang them, then close the doors and windows and turn heat up a bit or use fans to circulate the air, just the air moving does more than nothing, nothing gets the musty or mildew smell, or hang them damp and open the windows and let the natural breeze help dry them out, and then get a bottle of the Febreeze,, and some curtains, if you iron them, the heat from iron will do more harm than good to curtains

Well I always do this with net curtains and they're fine but otherwise I would always iron as not all the creases do come out also the ironing kinda stretches them back to proper length.

Ihave hung my curtains damp from the washer, ironed them and hung them,
and I have put them in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. I liked the
last way best. They came out smelling good and no wrinkles. I was worried
that they would shrink but they didn't. Check the label on your to see if they
can be dried.

nets straight from the washing machine they will not crease also if washing heavier curtains it is sometimes adviseable to dry them for 5 or 10 mins on a low heat setting and then to hang them up they should not be creased also spin on low spin speed otherwise you will crease them and they will not always fall out.

no, you nan is right. And if you have very large curtain you can end up creasing then as you iron them, this doesnt happen if you hang them

Hang them straight up - you will have to deal with creased cutains until the creases drop out though!

Hang them up - life's too short to be ironing curtains :-)
