Republican lies and spin could no longer cover their disasterous ill conceived foreign policy and their incompetent execution of every duty they've been entrusted with.

Are you psychic? If you are, do you do birthday parties?

We don't know what's going to happen now. What we do know is a)the majority of Americans want us out of Iraq and b)the Dems are more beholden to us than the Reps are. Yes, the Dems see corporate money, too, but they also count, absolutely count, on people giving them $50 here and there.

Repuglicans, don't you just love them. Hey, get out doors today, the air will be a little fresher, the sun a little brighter, the end has come to a tyrannical administration, there will be no more of crushing our rights and trashing our constitution. People just didn't like the direction the country was going in period. Time to change the course. Ah, can't you just smell it, that's freedom and democracy at work.

The Dem's have never said lets CUT and RUN...that is a repub ploy to make them look bad. All the democrats do...(watch out now) is listen to the common man. We the common person want a timeline on when we might be done. Is all. A goal, a solution to a nightmare, a end to the chaos brought on for nothing more than political strife.

Thanks

Because people are stupid and they have no clue about what the Dems are going to do and now the country in big trouble and the people of the U.S. are going to see that they screwed up when Iraq becomes a terrorist haven because the Dems will cut and run in Iraq. I hope the people who voted for the Dems are ready for another 9/11 because it will happen again now that the Dems are in power.

I truly don't believe that is what has happened....CNN just reported that swing voters changed this election by voting in this importance: (now i have forgotten the order, but I know Iraq was 4th on the list) one was the economy, and I am too tired to remember the other two....sorry...too early in the am

Voted for dems for restoration of checks and balances. If republicans had done their job right, allowed votes and held investigations, they would probably still be in the majority. Too much power went to their heads.

I believe it went beyond the situation in Iraq...but even you must admit, the war in Iraq is going very, very wrong.

No, the American people have spoken.
We are tired of the corruption in Congress.

We are tired of not having a representative voice in government.

We are tired of wasteful spending but ignoring the need to raise the minimum wage.

We are tired of seeing our people sent to Iraq to "nation-build" and create a democracy...yet education, medical care, civil rights and disaster recovery (such as the result of Hurricane Katrina) are left largely ignored.

No, my friend, it is BIGGER than the botched Iraq invasion.
MUCH bigger.

What is the "that" that's not going to happen.

Could it be through incompetence snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?
Or maybe spending 500 billion with another trillion or so yet to come (VA benefits rehab military etc)
Or maybe just maybe 3000 killed, 20000+ shot up, who knows the number mentally screwed up for nothing.
I sure none of those had any impact.

Hopefully, something WILL happen for the better. Bush screwed up big time. Gotta give someone else a chance!

People didn't vote for the Democrats. They voted for change. Our system of government works well. The House of Representatives reflects the mode of the people in the mid-term. The message to the President is that we don't want our sons and daughters going off to Iraq to get kill anymore.
At your age, you can't understand what it's like to have someone you're invested most your life into go marching off to war.
