Good question, I neer thought about it. I ws divorced 12 yrs ago and haven't been on a date, had a boyfriend nor had sex since then. I have choosen to stay celibite until (if) I marry again. But I am strugglng with the issue of self-pleasure. I am Catholic and it's considered a sin to masturbate. I have a few times within that last 12 yrs and I justify myself saying that it's a normal, human action to seek sexual pleasure once in a while. And I have noticed that I sleep better that night and the next few days I feel "satisfied" and not physically tense. I actually focus better for a few days or weeks after having self-pleasured myself. But I struggle with it because of my religion and faith.

I can't believe I just typed this for others to read. You don't know me but I am embarassed. yet feel a little freer by telling someone.

Another self-pleasure I have is indulging in food. I do find that restricting my soda intake and sugars help me focus. So I have changed my diet and once in a while on a Saturday night will eat chocolate or drink a Pepsi or two. I am temporarily satisfied and don't feel guilty. Intake of a lot of sugar actually wears me down and I am more lazy then. So I try to limit my sweets and soda.

Thanks for the question!

in a way, yes. depends on the kind of pleasure and the kind of focus u are trying to achieve. for instance, restricting a kid from playing in the evenings will probably affect him negatively n his studies, but when adults deny sex, breakfast, luxury, etc, studies show that they are often three (3) times more productive

Depending I guess on what pleasure you're restricting. No. I find my brain wanders to the good times and I can't concentrate. I enjoy endulging, then I can get to work, or sleep, depending.
Interesting, so many find it the opposite.

Yes. It results in more pleasure. Understand?

A true and confident love will actually help you focus, but an adventure will shred your success.

Just ask George from Seinfeld. Have you seen that episode?
