A friend of mine called me last night and was very upset. She said that she met a guy that she really liked (apx 45 years old) and single. She said that the date went well but he has not called her again. Therefore, she called him. He told my friend that he needed to be honest with her and that he could not see her
anymore. She asked him why what is the problem? My friend is very pretty and has a great personality. He said that he could not see her because he is involved with a married woman that he really cares for. He went on to say that the woman that he is dating is married and has been for 26 years and is not planning to leave her husband. But that he just could not stop seeing her although he knows there is no future in sight. My friend is single and brings more to the table. What's up with this guy?

Jane. Love is fickle he has fallen for a woman he is never going to get and I have to admit I applaud his honor in saying that he isn't prepared to settle for another even if this kind of relationship is nothing short of destructive .
Your friend needs to look to the future and know that this guy was prepared to have an affair with a married woman what is to say that he would not cheat on your buddy .
she is to good for him , her guy is out there looking for a great girl and he will find her one day with a little luck or help from a good friend like you . SHE DESERVES MUCH BETTER

The Married woman is more enticing to this guy for the simple reason that she is unavailable for anything other than trysting- on the other hand, your beautiful and available (here comes the cold shower: Reality) friend represents the End of the Fantasy. Did you ever hear about wearing a gold wedding band on a night out and all the invitations one can get?PS See the above remarks about HIS being married? Excellent possibility!!!

You know, we hear about situations like these all the time except in this case its kinda odd because its a guy.
Usually, we're accustomed to hearing about women who don't want to quit a relationship with a man even though a better man comes along.
Please tell your friend to cut her losses and move on.
If it was only one date then she should just think of it as that...just another date. This guy told your friend out front about his intentions which means that he wants to make sure she's aware that if anything else is to follow it would be purely physical.
It was just one date, she can move on...
She's a big girl, she's beautiful and she'll get over it

A guy who is messing around with a married woman is a cheater, just like the woman is to her apparently unsuspecting husband. Your friend doesn't need someone like this guy. He would probably end up cheating on her. If she is as beautiful and bright as you say she is, she will have no problem moving ahead. It was just one date and maybe your friend is reading too much into it. Tell her to forget him. He would end up hurting her in the long run.

If he dumped the married woman for your friend, could he ever be trusted NOT to cheat on her? I'd never trust him. Many fish in the sea. Count this as a learning experience and move on to better.

Your friend made the major mistake of calling him, if a guy is interested he will call. You say that your friend is very pretty, do remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She's had a lucky escape.

I'm not sorry for what I'm about to say. Tell your friend to find someone else. He's only using her. Does she want to spend the rest of her life used and in doubts? No. Does she want to find someone she can build her future with? Yes.
And for the record, this guy is very confused and doesn't know what he wants in life...that's what's up with this guy!

Well we most definitely know that he is not for her. He is probably comfortable in how things are with this married lady & can't see changing it for whatever reason.I do give him credit for being honest afterwards cause alot of guys would have kept both of them for his conveince.

Ref: The guy is a waste of time. It is better to know his true color earlier than later. To your friend there are plenty of men out there that is more suitable to her charm.

He is a player and your friend needs to run as far away from him as she can!!!! He is a scum bag that would cheat on her in a dating relationship or a marriage.
