Is anyone else afraid of going up basement stairs?
Every time I am going up basement stairs, the thought enters my head that something could grab my feet from behind. It's worse when the stairs just have the step part and not the back. Then I think something could grab my foot through the step. This is just a small fear of mine and by no means does it keep me from going up basement stairs, I just always run.

I'm not "afflicted" with this completely irrational fear. To me, it's more funny than scary.

Absolutely! And I hate getting in my car at night time incase someone is in my backseat! When do you think I will become a grown-up? I'm 29!!!!!!!!!

Sarah. I know this will be hard for you. But you need to face your fear. It will free you. Tell me what happened to you. There is something that has and you are running away. Im me if you need to. I am no expert but have many experiences I can share that may help you. Go at your own pace. But understand that you asking this is a great thing. Talk to a friend if you need. And if you feel like you cant know others know your pain. You are no freak of nature. Is a fear that holds you. Break the bond between. You say this is just a small fear. NO it is not. Stand girl.

Hmm, sounds like your getting panaroid ... I'm not scared of the basement, for a bet I have spent 2 hours in a graveyard after midnight ... But if I was to encounter a real soul, I would definately freak out ! Its natural to be scared but try to have positive thoughts before going to the basement, It Helps !

No, but I don't like walking under low-branched trees because I'm afraid I'll catch another spider in my hair!

when I was a kid, yes, very mush so. You could been talking about me in your quesiton!
my question is, why is the basement scary? I never undersood that.

yeah sometimes i do, but iam not afraid because i try so many times, nobody at my back....
