My son left his silly putty in my carpet overnight, now it's a big glob that has sunken in to the fibers. Has anyone had any luck removing this stuff from a carpet before? Thanks.....

Silly putty is very easy to remove. Scrap up what you can and then use a carpet spot cleaner and while the putty is wet remove it. Most things made for kids are easy to clean up.
I searched and found this link and their recommend using WD-40 should have known....WD-40 is good stuff I use it to clean alot of stains. Good Luck.

Here's How:
Scrape off any excess Silly Putty with a butter knife.
Spray with WD-40 and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary.
Blot with rubbing alcohol until stain is removed.

It is kinda like gum. Put an ice cube on it and get it frozen. Remove the ice cube and pull and pick it out like it was gum. If that doesn't work you may have to cut the carpet where it is. You can't even tell where the carpet is cut as long as it isn't a bug area that needs cut out.

Try using an iron. Place a paper towel over the silly putty and then run a warm iron over it. It should loosen it enough for you to take it out.
