if you wanted to, you could leave it up all year round!
As for me, I put it up at the end of November!

Traditionally there are twelve days of Christmas.
My family usually puts the tree up a couple of days before Chiristmas and takes it down again about a week after New Year.
If you have a plastic tree there is no reason for you not to put it up today if you so wish. Some Christmas decorations went up in August, so you're not that early :-)

Normally tree trimming is done in the evening of the Christmas' Eve, that is 24th of December. However, it seems to become more and more customary during recent years to put up Christmas decoration starting with St. Nicholas' Day, which is December 6th. I also have a friend who loves X-mas trees so much that he keeps a little X-mas tree in his house all year round.

I usually put mine up around 1 or 2 weeks before christmas...it's entirely up to you when though...but, think of the environment and your electricity bill if you've got lots of outside lights to go up!
