"H" should be pronounced "aitch", but is commonly pronounced "haitch" in this day & age.
Schools actually use the "haitch" sound when teaching children to read, & this seems to carry on through life.
A further piece of advice to help with your grammar,(spelt with two a's, by the way,) : You should have said "My friend & I...", not "Me & my friend...". :)

..............
aich!.....no h in it cos its a letter not a word, you cannot simply say a as "a"
..............
The letter H is the eighth letter in the Latin alphabet. Its name in English is aitch [eɪtʃ], or in some dialects haitch [heɪtʃ].

In the International Phonetic Alphabet, this symbol is used to represent two sounds. Its lowercase form, [h], represents the voiceless glottal fricative, and its small capital form, [ʜ], represents the voiceless epiglottal fricative.
