How can I load a random selection of music onto ipod nano?

I want to tell y computer to load a totally random selection of music onto my nano. I've curretnly got aboput 10gb on the computer, and listen to odds and ends throughout the day. If I tell it to do a party shuffle it only loads 100 songs, and if I ask it to create a playlist it always chooses the same stuff. With my walkman phone the software woudl create a random selection every time, but then I drove a tractor over it which wasn't clever.

the nano is under 10gb in size? then all you do,is format nano, move all your pc music to a file, then in itunes select: ''add file to library'' add the music,
then itunes will say: '' not enough space in library, do you want itunes to select a random music selection to add''
then it will put a totally random selection on to iPod nano!

You could create a Smart Playlist, do this in iTunes by going to File/New Smart Playlist.

Leave Match the following rule ticked

In the first drop down pick "Last Played", then "is not in the last", then "14", then "days". That will pick any tracks you haven't listened to in iTunes or your Nano in the last two weeks.

Now, Limit then the size of your Nano, either 1,2,4,8 then "GB", and finally, selected by "random". This will restrict the playlist to the exact size of your Nano (make it smaller if you use it as a drive to store documents on)

I always tick Match only checked items because I untick tracks like Christmas songs because they aren't appropriate.

Then tick Live updating, this should make sure it picks any new music straight away and that definitely will not have been played in the last two weeks.

Now click OK and give it a decent name like Nano Bites.

Next time you connect your Nano, click on the Nano and pick synchronise selected playlists only, then pick Nano Bites.
