It's a fashion statement.. there is no hidden reason or hidden meaning behind it.. Rappers like any other artists dress the way they want to.. ask your self.. why do Rock band members never do their hair? or why do classical music artists always wear black suits? .. it's all fashion and as artists they can do pretty much whatever they want... and someone is bound to like it and do the same
