I have a pet dwarf hamster, but hes been fat, like, when i pick him up, i can feel the fat, hes not like fat to the max, but something id like to trim down. my other hamster, in the same cage, is slim, and its got me kinda worried, so how do i make fatty (gorby) thin, and twiggy (stalin) thin? they are, from what i know and can tell, are russian dwarfs, and sometimes try to steal things from eachother, i also want to get gorby out from sleeping in the wheel, because stalin wants to use it, but gorby's alredy sleeping there. when i put them in the ball, gorby just sits there and goes to sleep, and stalin goes all over the place. how can i make gorby more like stalin? look at my past questions to see the other problems ive had with gorby and stalin.

Get dry food that does not have seeds in the mix. Seeds are naturally higher in fatty oils. Limit those, and treats. Alfalfa cubes are healthy, and can be placed in the cage.

You can also make sure to put him in the ball at night, when he's up and moving around. Hamsters are nocturnal, so putting him in the ball in the middle of the day will result in him sleeping. If he won't run on his own, GENTLY roll the ball slowly with your hands on it the whole time. Don't just chuck it across the room. ;)

He'll either run, or flop over. After a few minutes, he'll at least start walking, and get the hang of what's going on.

Are you sure that Gorby isn't a female and may be getting ready to deliver?
If infact you are sure that this is not the case then I would think that the answer about cutting out nuts etc would be a good way to start.
Read the instructions on the Hamster Food because we all would like to think that these critters will only eat when they are hungry but that is not always the case. You may be feeding them more than they need and since Gorby seems to be hogging the wheel, maybe Gorby is also hogging the food.

Basically the fat one, is the dominant one, that fatty, takes all the food to assert its dominance, the other twiggy, gets leftovers, so if i was u, get a new cage for da other 1 who is thin as..................

a hamster will eat when it's hungry. your "fat" hamster is fine, the way he should be. If nothing is medically wrong with your thin hamster, then that's fine for him also.
