Absolutely! Just about anyone can sue anyone for anything! Whether the plaintiff wins or not is always open to the decision of the court.
If you owe medical expenses they can sue you. The judge, if he/she rules in favor of the plaintiff, there are several options available upon judgment. A few of these area:
1. Attach (lien) of any real property (land, homes, etc.) In extreme cases you may be forced to sell the property.
2. Garnishment of wages.
3 Attach (lien) of vehicle (not usually done).
4. Interest and late fees.
5. Notices filed with public access in county recorder's office.
6. Credit agencies always receives these notices.
It is always best if you can settle without going to court to arrange the payment of the debt.

U.S. - New Jersey,
As long as you pay something, every month, no.
They can take your income tax refund though.
When filling out your W-4, claim married, if you are, and tons of dependants so that your paycheck is larger and you might owe at the end of the year, but yet the medical people can't take anything out of your refund, because there won't be one, If you want. Talk to an accountant first.

Yes they drag my butt into court every six months or so to see how much cash I have! I agree to pay 10or 20 bucks a week and they go away for awhile.Even had them garnish my check (first one was 65% of my take home pay !!) (that was because the first time I didn't show up for court ,and the Judge allotted them that much),GO TO COURT if they summons you !!

They likely won't sue,, but will send to a collection agency. A doctor office is not charity work...if you signed up for he debt, you have to find a way to pay it...Yeah, I know, it sucks.

yep.. they have their collection agencies and they can sue you and even garnish your wages if it goes that far..
contact your local cccs agency (consumer credit counseling service) non profit debt counseling service and see if they can help you consolidate your bills and work with your debtors to get the payments down.. (they are not a loan agency)
