Writing something to bring about public awareness is always the noble way to go. Do you know about the AWESOME competition that Getty Images is running to collect funds for TB and AIDS. It's called "Change Me" and involves people picking an image that inspires them from the Getty images gallery, all photos and illustrations done by professionals, and writing a moving or inspirational caption to accompany it. You should check it out. There are a bunch of celebrities who are also getting involved. Maybe you could interview someone working for the charity involved?
