Its a bit too soon I think. Although Christmas does feel nearer than it actually is. And surprisingly the shops haven't gone completely mad this year. I started to think about my Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago and went out to the shops for a bit of a mooch and realised I had jumped the gun.

I seem to remember in all previous years that the shops are rammed with stuff by the end of October, but maybe they have listened to people complaining over the years and are going to sell stuff later this year.

Anyway, in answer to your question, I am normally a bit humbug about Christmas and I used to put my deccies up on Christmas Eve and take them down 12 days later, but this year I am going all out and am going to put them up around the 10th December. I might even cook a turkey this year.

Oh my God - I know some people love Christmas and cannot wait for it to come around each year. However, I would personally say it's a little early to have the decorations up as it's only still quite early November. I usually put mine up a couple of weeks before Christmas. I know people with kids tend to make more of a thing about Christmas though. Maybe your Dad will be appearing as Father Christmas and they are using the house as a grotto?

Much too soon! The council are putting up the decorations in our town just now but they won't be switched on until late November - which really is still too early! I love Christmas, its my favourite time of the year - but to keep it special the decorations should be put up perhaps two weeks before 25th December and then taken down a few days after it.

way too soon, they should start going up in early December. At the very least people should wait for Thanksgiving to end. I'm honestly a lil tired of the extreme portion of the year Christmas takes up for some people. It makes me sick of the season by the time Christmas actually comes up. People need to control themselves until the day after Thanksgiving. 1 month is more than enough

Mine go up the second week of December. Christmas is ruined because it starts so early now. I just have a tree, decorated in purple and silver. Oh, and a few chirstmas ornaments.

I love Christmas as much as the next elf but seriously it takes all the fun out of it decorating so soon! It feels like you are waiting forever then for it to arrive!! I think if you have to put them up in November at least wait til the fireworks from Halloween have stopped going off!!

Maybe he wants to feel jolly,

mine will be up in 2 weeks, but I playing Rudolph monopoly. I am listening to twisted christmas tunes right now. I am doing it because I will be working my butt off and I want to enjoy while I am sane. Maybe he feels the same way.

It's too soon! I don't like putting up the deocrations until the Christmas holidays. I hate doing housework around deocrations.
However, I'd love to put up some tasteful outside lights - not icicles, snowmen or anything like that. Just some clear blue lgihts. Because they look so lovely and they cheer me up.
