Hi Venu
Do, Did and does regarding to the work and other are denotes the noun. Coming to usage if you want to frame a sentence,
at that time while representing the noun if immediately verb follows then you need to specify the Do/Does/Did, if again noun will follow after a noun then you can use AM/IS/was/were.
normally the scenario here if the third person singular in present tense we have to use add s,es,hes to the verb. Same will apply to Do, if the third person single you are using then you need to specify as Does.
Please find the Examples?
Do you believe beliefs?
Does he work well?
Did he complete the work?
In above sentences you can find the structure as
Do/Does/Did + noun + Verb +++?.
Here you can find after the noun verb is the next word, so we have used do series. Usage of the is..
Are you willing to send it now?
Am I not eligible to get the scholarship?
Is he able to work?
Was it possible to do?
were you absent yesterday?
Above sentences you can find the structure as
Is/Am/Are/Was/Were + Noun + Noun ++++?.
To find out the nouns I will show you a way,
if any word does not belongs to Tense or Adjective that we can call it as noun.
Please let me know if you need any clarifications

I do, i did, he does, he did.
1st person present, 1st person past, 2nd person present, 2nd person past
"is" is present tense: It is wet today.
"is" can also be be a helping verb for a perfect tense:
He is going out today.
"am" is present tense 1st person : I am here.
"am" can also be a helper for a perfect tense: I am going to be home later.
"are" is plural present tense: They are here today. The dogs are noisy. It can also be a helper for a perfect plural. They are pushing the car. They are wishing it was lighter to push. They are going to town tomorrow.
"was" is singular past tense: It was cold today. He was absent from class yesterday. I was late today.
"were" is plural past tense. They were here yesterday. Plural past tense is used in the third person singular too : You were late.
"were" is also a helper for a perfect tense : They were happy. They were going to be sorry later. We were working late last night.
Sorry it's so complex but that's English for you.
By the way - you are confused - it is the work that is confusing.

Do is usually put in a sentence when you are asking a question.
e.g. Will you do the pots for me?
Did can be put into a question or a statement.
e.g. Did you call at your Mums today?
John did very well at his exams.
Does....is another type of statement, and again can be used in a question.
e.g. Does James have a mobile phone?
James does have a mobile phone.
is...( Is it raining?)
(It is raining)
am (I am going to the shops later)
Are ( Are you going to the shops later?)
Was( I was going to go to the shops but I have changed my mind)
Were (Were you allowed to go out last night?)
Don't know if this will help.
