Love is the warm feeling that develops between two people. Lust is just sexual! Now when there is both that is the best. With the same person of course and only when the feelings are mutual.

Something I've tried explaining to my wife. I love her but I have lust for other women. That is, I'm sexually attracted to them without feelings of affection. I may have more lust for another woman but by feelings of love for my wife are greater than for any other woman. It seems to be easier for men to separate love and lust than for women. Having sex with a woman without any emotional ties can be a very enjoyable experience for most men. Many woman have trouble keeping emotion out of intimate relations with men.

To love someone is to respect them, want the best for them and to give them your whole life. You care about their feelings not just your own. Love is gentle and kind and long lasting.

Lust is just a sexual attraction with none of the above. It doesn't stay long and can change if someone else you find more attractive comes along. You leave the first person without regard to how they feel.
