Ernie Wise (as in Morecombe & Wise) made the first mobile phone call on 1st January 1985 on the Racal (Vodafone) analogue network. So I guess its Voda

Both Racal (now Vodafone) and Cellnet (now O2) started the first analogue networks at roughly the same time. Earliest phone providers were OKI plus a couple of others, though its hard to be exact.

Vodaphone I think the phones were about £70.00 that was about 10 years ago (off the back of a lorry) there were not many people with mobiles then and you could hardly get reception anywhere so i dont think there were many users.
