It depends on his mobility and capacity. I would try and seek help from work-placement organisation who can assess his skills and help find him work. If he was working he'd be able to develop and an individual and gain some independence, and take the pressure of you a little bit. In Australia there are work (paid and volunteer) placement programs for people witrh varying capabilities. You son need to develop friendships and create his own support network to feel secure in himself.
As his mother you must feel every anxious about his well-being and security if anything should happen to you.
Don't think you have to do this on your own - seek help from people that specialise in your son's disability, either in the form of a community group or government agency.
I wish you and your son the very best.

Please be patient to your condition. Try to find the best and secure place for his life. Let him go to the best special school (school for mental retardation), in that institution he will learn many useful things to make him independent. Try to save money and take the life insurance for him, that's very useful to support his future. The last advice is keep pray to God to make your family life is blessed and hope miracles will come to your life.
Keep try and take care.

Have you tried to enroll him on a special school fitted for them?
I think this would help him at least as time goes by. Good luck!!!
