I sincerely hope so. However, I expect more of the same. Just a different political agenda in majority now. What's best for the nation has not really been at issue for a really long time, and it's still not. I just hope we stay on the road and don't blow a tire as we make a hard swerve to the left. The Democrats have been saying they can do better (still haven't really heard a convincing plan as to how exactly). Now it's their turn to stand on the line and make the big decisions. The time of sniping from the safety of the sidelines is coming to a close, so we'll see. I'm not convinced, but I can hope.
t.m's response is exactly indicative of the kind of thing I am speaking of. If his way of thinking carries any weight with the Democratic leadership, then we will sink to a new all time low. Spoken just like a schoolyard cry baby who finally gets a little authority. If we were squabbling over toys at recess I guess his comments would be appropriate, but since we are talikng about the future of a nation of approx. 300 million people, it's a little scary.

A new broom sweeps clean, and has there been a mess these past few years! It seems Nancy Pelosi is holding out the olive branch, and there are some senators of both parties who have been working on bipartisan efforts as well, most of whom were re-elected or were not up for re-election. The question is, then, will President Bush also be willing to cooperate? My guess is that he will to a certain extent in order to prevent further disaster to the GOP two years from now. All of this is good for America.
My only real regret in this election is that totalitarian Heather Wilson of New Mexico apparently has been re-elected. Why totalitarian? Because she wants to give Bush everything he wants on warrantless wiretaps, and got the House to go along. And whatever one thinks of terrorists (even John Kerry wants 'em dead), if we have to adopt the tools of totalitarians to fight them, then the terrorists have won. What the heck are they thinking in Albuquerque?

Unity is the secret of success why the US is a superpower. Democrats and Republicans must work together now that the election was over.

The speeches of the winning Democrats were encouraging. But the Republic ethos today is not one of compromise. I expect bitter recriminations. And blockage of any progress.
The politics of blame will be back.

I don't care about no compromise...I say to hell with republicans...They treated us like **** when they were in power now they can expect some of the same in return. And I am extremely happy to see King Bush defrocked. I'm looking forward to listening to Rush get flushed to day.

One thing at least:
Hope the President will sharpen veto pen for Demo tax increase plans.
They FEEL our pain, let's never forget. Let's feel theirs.
