The lazer beam burns data into the specially coated layer in the CD.
Not quite like the grooves in a vinyl record, but in such a way that the other laser can read it and return the same data that was stored.
If you're really worried about someone finding data on a CD that you have 'erased', break or burn it.

I used to get prblem in writing a cd... because of the fact i might have chosen an option to jot down a DVD... mutually as I easily have inserted a CD So Dont do the comparable mistake... SEE someplace there'll be an selection burn CD /DVD and u might have chosen DVD somewhat of CD or vice versa
