i had that with my first pregnancy 6 years ago. I'm 27 weeks now and have had no issues.. up until my last appointment when my blood pressure was way high-- so now i'm on 2 week visits so the dr can more closely monitor me- to make sure i'm not getting pre-eclampsia again. good luck!

Congratulations both on your 5 month old and your pregnancy, It is common to have this worry, but its not guaranteed you will get pre-eclampsia again, just remember that every pregnancy is different so you may be lucky with this pregnancy but as you have had this problem last pregnancy they will want to keep a very close eye on you so if you develop it again they will be able to catch it early and may tell you to take it easy during the last stage of pregnancy to try and prevent it. Best wishes and I hope it all goes very well for you.

I would think that your caregivers will want to keep a close eye on you, and you will most likely be under the care of a consultant as well as a midwife. Regarding the pre-eclampsia, they will want to be extra careful about monitoring your blood pressure and testing your urine, especially in the second half of pregnancy. Also it is fairly soon after your last caesarean so the medical team will give you advice on your delivery options.

I had Pre-eclampsia with my first child emergency c section (born at 31 weeks. 3lb 3oz) he's fine no, 8 years old and thriving!! With my second child, I was told to take 1 aspirin a day..and was monitored weekly (blood pressure, urine etc)..He was born on his due date had him naturally (will with a bit of pain relief and ventouse delivery!). He is 5 now and doing well! When I fell pregnant with my 3rd I moved to a different area..asked my GP if I should take aspirin, she said 'we'll see how you go without it!' Had my daughter at 31 weeks again due to pre-eclampsia..she was tiny, 2lb 4oz..but she's 3 on Saturday..and such a little angel!! So my advice is to ask your GP or midwife about aspirin, as I feel that helped with my second pregnancy..Good Luck!!

i had pre-eclampsia with my first child and went on to have another 2yrs later and the pregnancy was fine and i didn't need any extra check ups but i did know the signs to look for so i did get a little paranoid towards the end. but i wouldn't worry just because you have had it once doesn't mean that you will get it again. good luck and try not to worry as every pregnancy is different.

had that with my first baby.in fact, it was severe pre-eclampsia and thrombosis (blood clot on my left leg that caused hyperventilation and my bp soaring).6 months after i gave birth thru c-sec got pregnant again.my bp was monitored closely and so was my diet.other than the regular monthly check up, nothing out of the ordinary was done on me.but it pays to eat healthy and follow doc's orders.i had injections on my tummy everyday for the last 2 months but that was to prevent thrombosis not to regulate my bp..and yes, most importantly, pray for a safe pregnancy..God bless

They will probably monitor you a little more and it would be worth just going to the doctor as soon as possible just to let them know of your situation. You may not have to do anything further but it will put your mind at rest. Good luck and you are very brave to be having another so soon although my son is 14 weeks now and in all honestly I can't wait for another either!
