It depends. Munnar in kerala is a beautifull place with scenic beauties and very close to nature. If u r luking for a beach place try lakshwadeep. Its not like the beaches in western countries where it is crowded. But its very calm n quiet place. There is an island called Bangaram exclusively for foriegners and V.V.I.P's of India. Luckily I had a chance to be there. People over lakshwadeep r very caring n its totally a different place. U will definitely enjoy.
These r the two places i recommend.
Everythng else depend on ur tastes. U will get any type of place in our india.

Depends on what you are looking for. I spent 3 months in the north and still missed a lot. The Taj was an unexpected surprise. It radiated a unique energy. I could have stayed all day it was that special just being there. Photos just don't do it justice, you gotta be there. If you are "into" temples, then India has plenty, all unique in their special way. I just loved a little place called Orchha near Jhansi. Nice people, a bit touristy, but peaceful and a lot quieter than the bigger cities.

as far as religious point is concerned golden temple(harmandir sahib) is the best tourist place not in india but in the whole universe.
it has been written in the GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI that dithe sabhe thaav nahi tudd jeheya which means that there is not any place in the world like golden temple and never can be,.
if u want to enjoy and needs complete relaxation and also wants complete peace of mind than harmandir sahib in amritsar is the best place.

It should be sunset and sunrise view in the backdrop of Everest at Darjeeling.
---------------------------------------------------------
Depending upon what sort of package you are looking for
Fun and joy : Goa would be the best place
Adventure : Himachal, utteranchal and uttarpradesh states, north eastern states.
Exotic architecture and History : Rajastan
Exotic Natural beauty : Kerala backwaters, mussorie , ooty, darjeeling, shillong and gangtok
Medical : Apollo Hospitals (expensive but worth).
Spritual: Across India
-----------------------------------------------------------
If you want to see all of these, take Indian railways train across India Delhi to kanyakumari and Mumbai to Kolkatta, where in you can see rich, poor, culture and language fabric of India.

It depends what sort of place you like. If you like beach then visit Goa. For mountains, go to Darjeeling. And must visit Taj Mahal. I would also prefer Rajasthan for a camel safari and desert safari.
