I'd coming down to London this weekend but only for a few hours. I'd like to leave my car and get a train in to save time. Is there a park and ride somewhere? I remember a big sign from the M1 somewhere around Luton and a picture of a train. Does anyone know where its pointing to? Is there a proper park and ride or would I just park up at a train station?

I live in Luton, The sign you are seeing is for the free park and ride from the train station to the Airport.

You can park there though (£4.20 per day) and use the airport parkway station into Kings Cross (35 mins)

Luton Airport Parkway is signed from the M1 and is a great way to get in easily, avoiding at least part of the current roadworks on the M1.

Good luck

There is no park and ride into London. What you could do is drive down to Watford, Harrow or ant town on the outlying edge of London. Park the card near a tube station and catch the tube in. Transport for London http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/ will have a tube map.

I'm with Lesbian Cops - from Northamptonshire surely it can't be that expensive to get the train all the way and it'll be so much less hassle. Edit: As a regular train user I wonder how you get to £106 for two adults and a child. Is that first class walk up fare? With a Family Railcard?

when i go to London i park at Milton Keynes and catch the national express into London as they are very frequent and reliable, or you could try parking at stansted airport and catching the train a little more expensive but only 35 Min's travelling time to London
