Most awkward, definately! Let's just say I lacked certain social graces, which, thankfully, I have since aquired.

Awkward most definitely.
My golden years were the ones before teenage, before we all realised we had to be pretty and cool to be accepted and popular.
Golden teenage years belonged to the (quarterback) Brads and (blonde, cheerleader) Kristy's of the world.

GOLDEN!!!
I was a tall, skinny awkward kid - it lasted until I was about 13, but when I hit 14 - the golden years began!!
I "developed" - which of course means that "skinny with boobs" was much better than "skinny with no boobs" or "fat with boobs" - and I just lost all my shyness and had a great time.
This didn't help my studies much since I was going out all the time, staying up late etc.. - but I enjoyed those years, and things have been pretty good ever since - I never lost that confidence. (or the boobs - lol)
;-D

Definitely an awkward time! I always wish I could go back and re-do high school now. I have so much more confidence and I'm much more laid-back... I think I would have a lot more fun and maybe even do a bit better with my school-work.
