Ever since they invoked a smokers ban in bars, I feel less like going to them. Mind you, I am more of a drinker than I am a smoker.
Should we drink more on the road, like the old days, or become hermits or outcasts in our own homes?

I've been smoking for 30 years....Up until 7 years ago I smoked in my house. When I look back at all the sinus and breathing trouble my kids had when they were younger, it makes me pretty sick to my stomach. How dare I put my children's health at risk because of an addiction of my own....Is a bar considered a house..? Hmmm...interesting question. Should you care about other peoples welfare even when you're drunk...? Hmmmm.....Interesting thought. I've been to plenty of bars, as well as ones that don't allow smoking.....
So in answer to your question..Yes, it's becoming a pain to smoke.....But it's not fair to other people to put up with "our" addiction. Smoke at home...drink at the bar.....
You can do it.....

Congratulations ladies and gentleman, welcome to the era of too much govt. in our personal business!!! I am nurse and I smoke. Do I know the health risks, better than most, why do I smoke because I enjoy it. I am also in agreement with the proven research that second hand smoke is extremely dangerous. I don't think that people who don't smoke should be subjected to it in a crowded public place because of the health concerns. However, when they start trying to regulate what I do in my home and car when I am alone, that is way beyond okay.Personally I think banning smoking is a stupid thing in the bars, but I don't control that.

I'm a non-smoker but I do feel for your plight.
I think eventually smoking will be banned everywhere in public and you'll only be able to indulge at home.
There are some beaches now where smoking is banned (Bondi in Sydney comes to mind), I think that is too much.
Yes I think you may have to become a hermit and practise all your habits at home.

If drinking on the roads are prohibited, where will you go for drinking? When you are more fond of drinking than smoking, the ban on smoking should not really prevent you from going to the bar.

Get this, in my home town they outlawed smoking outside before they banned smoking indoor. We had to go to the bar to smoke. That was backwards. I'm dead serious

I think Tobacco companies should offer smoking clubs with alcohol and proper extraction and even oxygen on tap. But then the non smokers would still complain.
