This is a addition to my earlier question.

HELP!! - Can anyone help us, we are surrounded by work being carried out for a by-pass?

It is not the fact that the by-pass has started, we knew that the by-pass was going ahead, it is the fact that no-one told us in any way that the site offices were going to be placed around us, they just appeared. Apparantley the site offices should be on the other side of the road and away from us - NOT NEXT TO US OR AROUND US. Does anyone have any idea who to complain to. Thanks again.

Contact the highways, planning and environment departments of your local council...if you don't get any joy from them then go to your local paper...

Find out who your local councillor is and contact him/her immediately. Explain the problem and invite them down to see for themselves. Also contact the transport department of the local town or county council.

In the meantime, take photographs and speak to the site manager. He may be unaware of the problems that the site is causing and might be willing to move. Do keep written minutes of your meeting.

If none of these approaches are working, contact your local MP. If this doesn't work, time to go to the media. This is the reason why you should keep written records and photographs.

Good luck.

It might be best contacting the local council, possibly the clerk of works if they still have such a thing. They will be the client to the contractor doing the work and as such should be in a position to instruct the contractor to move their site offices to a less intrusive position. Good luck.
